Self-portrait with trenza (2020)
Self-portrait with trenza is a movement portrait of isolation and precariousness. Inspired by memories of my grandmother braiding my hair as well as Frida Kahlo’s Self-Portrait with Cropped Hair, the solo exemplifies unspoken cultural transmission, memory and transgenerational connection among women.
Choreography & Performance: Paty Lorena Solórzano
Music: Anthony Almendárez
