Description
In this solo dance, four stories of women--each of her own generation--become different facets of one entity.  The imagery of flowers, tropes of femininity and fragility, is juxtaposed with circling movement and powerful postures to challenge the trope of a "delicate flower." The work explores embodied generational memory and seeks to recover personal stories of women in my family as a way to understand my own troubled identity as an immigrant, Mexican woman. The dance becomes the altar through which I honor these powerful women.
